The Thespian Pledge:

I promise to uphold the aims and ideals of the International Thespian Society. I am a student of theatre and excellence is my ideal. I promise to perform my part as well as I can; to accept praise and criticism with grace; to cooperate with my fellow Thespians and work for the good of the troupe; and to share my love of theatre.

We recite our pledge during the yearly induction ceremonies and we keep it in our hearts at every meeting, in every show we perform and in our day to day theatre lives. I.T.S. is an honor society at Hereford, as in, a student has certain hour requirements (10 points or 100 hours of theatre work a year minimum) and must keep a B average to graduate as an honor thespian.

Honor Thespians must either have a B average or have dedicated at least 600 hours to the society. Master Thespians must have given a documented 1,200 hours and Grand Master Thespians must have given at least 1,800 hours in their short four school years to the department. There have ever only been 6 Grand Master Thespians so far at Hereford.

At Thespian meetings we discuss the current shows and members work on their areas of involvement. We invite new theatre students to join us every year. Our officers include the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and the Historian/Webmaster (which may be given to multiple persons). Each officer leads the rest of the group in multiple duties so that we run effectively and efficiently.
