The Hereford High School chapter of the National Honor Society is dedicated to the participation of academically excellent students in the community. Among numerous activities, NHS sponsors a Walkathon to raise money for charity, campus cleanups to ensure the beauty of the school and community, and trips to visit senior citizens at a local nursing home. The honor society visits St. Vincent's Children's Hospital each year at Christmas time to deliver gifts for the children. In addition, NHS is responsible for the tutoring their fellow students at Hereford High. During American Education Week, NHS provides gifts for the teachers and a breakfast on Friday morning. Members of NHS serve as guides for parents for Back-to-School and American Education Week and as greeters for graduation-related ceremonies.
