Mock Trial

Mock Trial’s purpose is to get students involved in arguing the law. Each year a case is chosen – either civil or criminal- challenging students to think critically about issues that plague society. Students will act as attorneys and witnesses, portraying either the defense or plaintiff/prosecution.  At the competitions, student performances are scored by judges or attorneys to determine if the team will move on to the next round.

Mock Trial aims to further students understanding of the law, court procedures, and the legal system. It also helps to refine students listening, speaking, reading, and reasoning skills, and is geared towards students who have an interest in law related professions.

Mock Trial meets on Thursdays during Enrichment hour.
